Our Product
We are an experienced team that is reducing time to signature for general counsel, their sales and procurement teams and service providers.
Our proprietary technology stack consists of Lexible, a Universal Description Language, and Fathom, our AI capability. Lexible is a knowledge tree that poses the questions that Fathom (our AI capability) answers. Together Fathom and Lexible deliver meaning identification, not mere text search and our technology has built the largest legal knowledge tree of its kind.

Your Mission
Your mission is to become a collaborative and active member of one of our cross functional teams. You will work alongside Product Owners, Designers, Front End Engineers, DevOps, Testers and Data Scientists. Your focus will be on developing the backend microservices which to deliver ThoughtRiver’s Legal Tech platform. These services enable our AI driven backend to be delivered as a simple to use product via our React frontend.
Our latest backend microservices are written using Python and this is where you will spend much of your time, working on new services some of which will be green field others are modernisations of the current code base., Most importantly you will be “continuously” shipping to production surfacing your hard work to our customers. As with all code bases there are some legacy applications, some of which written in PHP, you may occasionally be required to work on these from time to time.
You will put your thoughts forward and bring new ideas of how to solve problems to our Sprint Ceremonies always ensuring they are customer focused.
- Designing, Developing and Maintaining our APIs which underpin our product.
- Completing product work against ThoughtRiver’s application stack including new feature development and maintenance changes.
- Assessing new requirements in the form of stories; generating tasks, estimates, impact assessments.
- Adhering to technical development standards; working with Software Architect to implement architectural patterns.
- Ensuring all work is impact assessed and documented.
What you'll need to succeed:
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of working on a modern user focused React Application within a fast-paced business.
- Required Skills / Frameworks:
Demonstrable knowledge of Python
- Demonstrable knowledge of SQL
- Delivering a Software as a Service product using a microservice architecture
- Familiar with Agile Methodologies such as Scrumban
- Familiar with coding standards and guidelines and a desire to craft beautiful code
- Self-motivated with good attention to detail
Desirable but not Essential Experience
- Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and Trunk Based Development
- An understanding of the key principles of software design patterns
- Familiarity with PHP
- Full stack experience in React and Azure
- Azure / AWS
- Test-Driven Development, Domain-Driven Design
