Senior Product Manager (Remote, London, or Cambridge)

The Role
The Senior Product Manager (SPM) is the right-hand for the Director, Product. They are responsible for the product, or the “what.” They effectively identify, deliver, and iterate innovative and lovable customer experiences.
The SPM uses their knowledge of the market, competition, and current trends, they define innovative functional solutions to boost product value. They contribute their own experience from high-functioning teams in organising workshops with the stakeholders, adapting to specific customers and their business needs.

Key Tasks:

  • Understand the product vision and actively shape the roadmap in collaboration with the Director of Product
  • Leverage your knowledge of the platform, as well as customer feedback and analytics to prioritise the direction and desired outcomes
  • Align and engage stakeholders, set the roadmap, prioritise features, build consensus, and coordinate product schedules with business teams, engineers to ship high-quality experiences
  • Responsible for leading creation of user story maps, problem and design briefs, user journey workflows, documenting epics, user stories and detailed acceptance criteria, etc. in collaboration with product, design, engineering, and other stakeholders
  • Responsible for prioritisation of product backlog items and balancing work of the team to tackle roadmap items, tech debt, and incoming support issues to maximise value and keep customers happy
  • Aid in creation of product documentation including but not limited to knowledge base support articles, product training videos, and more as requested by the Director of Product or business
  • Foster a culture of testing, data-driven decision making, and accountability for metrics and results
  • Support a continuous improvement mindset, identify areas for improvement and help execute change for the better
  • Manage junior members of the team and help them develop their product management skill set

Experience Required:

To successfully execute the role of Senior Product Manager, you will need the following skills and traits:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager for software products built from the ground up/produced MVPs (B2B experience preferred)
  • Experience using UX principles and creating wireframes
  • Experience creating and owning a product roadmap or strategy
  • Experience of using user story mapping to understand scope
  • Experience scoping and defining products / features and creating sprint plans
  • Experience leading a team of developers and designers towards defined product goals
  • Experience with Jobs to Be Done and the Outcome Driven Innovation (ODI) Framework
  • Good knowledge of analytical tools and how they can be used to track and assess performance
  • Comfortable using lean, agile, and software development lifecycle frameworks
  • Enough technical understanding to work closely with engineers and act as a translator between engineers and non-technical customers
  • History of partnering and collaborating with architects and engineers in writing clear user stories
  • Experience with key toolsets – Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good level of communication skills both written and verbally
  • Very high attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Critical thinker and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Evidence of being resourceful, a self-starter and showing initiative
  • Passion for building lovable product experiences
  • Experience of common law commercial contract law
  • Prior involvement with technology solutions that support legal operations
  • Prior success working in a collaborative, team environment
  • An understanding of machine learning principles

Nice to have:

  • A good exposure to the legal technology market and competitive landscape
  • Experience with key toolsets – MURAL, Pendo, Mix Panel
  • Experience writing Acceptance Criteria in Gherkin
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Experience in commercial and client-facing roles

The Senior Product Manager will be measured on the value delivered by the team they work with and its impact to customer engagement and retention in line with our north star metric (NSM). They will be accountable for delivering lovable experiences.
